Training Program

Université Laval, the Research Centre of the Institut universitaire de cardiologie et de pneumologie de Québec (IUCPQ) and the Research Chair in Obesity are offering training opportunities in obesity research to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. The training is delivered in a multidisciplinary and creative environment supported by a large network of basic and clinical researchers.

Sponsorship by the CIHR Research Chair in Obesity’ includes a scholarship program for graduate students and postdoctorate fellows as well as two complementary graduate courses in obesity made possible thanks to funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research’s Obesity Training Program.

In consistency with Université Laval’s CIHR training program, the Research Chair provides a comprehensive 6-credit, 90-hour graduate course in obesity. Thanks to a partnership with the Canadian Obesity Network, this course is also offered in English to graduate students from all over Canada in the summer. A 3-hour condensed version is also available for medical externship students.
